That's funny you mention this whole "melk" thing. I thought my sister and I were the only ones who did it. One day while training this voice command program for the computer. It kept typing out "melk" everytime I said "milk". I had my sister do it and same thing. We thought maybe we had a slight speech inpediment.
My entire familky (except for my sister, Floridian that she is) are Michiganders. Only I say 'melk', everyone else says 'milk'. It drives me nuts. My mother especially, because she feels she has to correct me every single time.
1 out of 5 of my siblings says melk. We still mock her because we don't hear anyone else say melk. I know we're Michiganders and all, but have a little fun.
I am a proud Michigan native who has had the great fortune of living all over the US. Was a business analyst for 12 years before moving into marketing in 1992.
I've met enough people and seen enough of this world to know that I am an incredibly lucky bastard. For this I am grateful.
